Time To VOTE! We have two upcoming votes at this year's Annual Membership Meeting

It's that time of year, Members! Voting for your Board of Directors for a three year term. We have two Positions up for Vote this Year, Jonas Branscum is running for one position and Tres Phipps for the other. If anyone wants to run against either of these fellows, come to the office and fill out the paperwork, and I will get you on the ballot! Nominees must be Members of the Water Distributors Inc (landowners, not renters) and have valid Memberships, and be in good standing (bills all paid, no outstanding debts to the company). Voters must also be members. Voting will take place at the Annual Membership Meeting on April 8th at 7:00pm.

We will also be voting on Resolution 1RWD to become a Rural Water District.

All this means is that we want to become an official Rural Water District, which will allow us to apply for grants and other funding to help us upgrade our infrastructure and equipment in order to better serve our community. As we are currently, our options to get funding to do major overhauls of parts of our system and repairs are limited by what we can afford to borrow and pay back. Being able to obtain grants will help ease that burden, and allow us to make upgrades that are desperately needed without having to go into more debt than we can climb out of before more work has to be done.

Members should have received a packet of information in the mail including the proposal, the resolution a map of the proposed district, directions on how to vote by proxy, a proxy vote form and an envelope stamped and addressed to Water Distributors. You can fill out the proxy form, vote yes or no to the resolution to become a Rural Water District, and return it in the envelope provided, you can return the form to the Water Office in Summerfield, or you can come to the meeting April 8th, at 7:00pm and Vote in Person.
